NCCJ (formerly the National Conference of Christians and Jews) is a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry, and racism in America. NCCJ promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution, and education. Its recent initiative, the National Conversation on Race, Ethnicity, and Culture in America, modeled focused discussion in workplace and community settings by bringing together a range of leading American thinkers for dialogue. NCCJ has made use of technology to telecast such discussions nationally, enabling both live and distant audience interaction. NCCJ has 65 regional offices throughout the country. Through a variety of programs and educational opportunities, the regional offices carry out this important work of promoting understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures. |

Passionate, powerful and frequently poignant, P.O.V. films regardless of their subjects are ultimately personal and unvarnished reportage on our lives. P.O.V.'s High Impact Television (HITV) campaigns are designed to build audiences, inspire civic dialogue and, when possible, foster community involvement around issues raised in select programs. The Pew Center for Civic Journalism was created by The Pew Charitable Trusts to help stimulate citizen involvement in community issues. The Pew Center is an incubator for civic journalism experiments that enable news organizations to create and refine better ways of reporting the news to re-engage people in public life. The Pew Center shares the results of these experiments with the journalism profession through its James K. Batten Awards for Excellence in Civic Journalism, funding for civic journalism projects, workshops, spotlights, publications, videos, quarterly newsletters, presentations, and other outreach. |
