Andrea Rosenfeld

Artist Statement:

Fine artist, philanthropist and Development Associate, Andrea Rosenfeld’s exciting journey has been evolutionary and filled with exploration: from a University of Michigan, School of Art and Design student to Fashion Institute of Technology, to Perry Ellis Portfolio Menswear Assistant Merchandiser, to Isaac Mizrahi Ltd. Director of Merchandising and Operations, to creating and owning her own art jewelry line and finally working in creative placemaking and community development. Woven throughout was non-stop creating and gallery and museum shows while taking the time to teach others how to fulfill their artistic goals.

Combining her enthusiasm for art and culture, boundless passion and creativity with a keen business sense she helps raise awareness for artists while at the same time supports non-profits and assists in community redevelopment. Andrea is moving back home to Michigan this summer, and is currently networking with community development leaders to become a part of the exciting Renaissance in Detroit.

As an experimental artist, Andrea is now dabbling in glass blowing and abstract painting techniques. While a jewelry artist, her imaginative designs garnered press, including the premier fashion trade publication, Women’s Wear Daily,The Gem Trade Association, National Jeweler, Chicago Sun Times, and more. Skilled in metal working, loom weaving, silk screening, lithography, photography, garment design, drawing, painting, ceramics, woodworking and jewelry design, Rosenfeld makes use of a combination of techniques and eco-friendly, natural materials while placing emphasis on texture, movement, negative space and playfulness as a main force in her creations.

Her work as a member of the newly formed MoCo Art Corridor/Partnership, a county-wide economic art initiative, a Development Associate with Melarbit Partners and the Co-Organizer with The Community Investment Network of NJ, allows Andrea to create networking/investment events and work with a large team of spirited leaders committed to the art community.

Andrea's engagement as a volunteer/Chairperson for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Central and Southern NJ Affiliate allows her to honor her Mother, Sheila, a two-time cancer survivor, while her role as the Vice President and Media Chairperson for the Freehold Borough Arts Council helps her support artists in local communities.
